Female Powerlifter Set Personal Record at Regional Competition

Manor, TX (March 12, 2021) - Despite the turbulent times Manor ISD scholars have had to face over the last year, scholars are pushing through and achieving their goals. At the Regional Powerlifting meet on March 6th, Manor Early College High School 11th grader Angelica Portillo managed to score a personal record on the deadlift, maxing out her total weight lifted at 340 pounds earning 3rd place.

This was Portillo’s second appearance competing at the Regional level and she is determined to advance to the State level competition next year.

Mujer Powerlifter estableció récord personal en competencia regional

Manor, TX (12 de marzo de 2021) - A pesar de los tiempos turbulentos que los estudiantes de Manor ISD han tenido que enfrentar durante el último año, los estudiantes están avanzando y logrando sus metas. En la competencia regional de levantamiento de pesas el 6 de marzo, la estudiante de 11 ° grado de Manor Early College High School, Angélica Portillo, logró anotar un récord personal en el peso muerto, maximizando su peso total levantado en 340 libras obteniendo el tercer lugar.

Esta fue la segunda aparición de Portillo compitiendo a nivel regional y está decidida a avanzar a la competencia a nivel estatal el próximo año.
