Four MISD Schools Qualify for Free Breakfast and Lunch

The Manor ISD Food and Nutrition Department announced a change to its policy for serving meals to children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2019-2020 school year.

Manor Excel Academy, the Manor Elementary Early Learning Center, Presidential Meadows Elementary and Decker Elementary Schools qualify to operate the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) to provide breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.

Schools were chosen by Region 13 and the Texas Education Agency based on the number of free and reduced lunch applications. Since Manor ISD did not have high enough automatically qualified numbers to make the whole district free, only the top four campuses in Manor ISD qualified, with pre-k centers automatically selected.
