Manor ISD Names Dr. Robert Sormani Lone Finalist for Superintendent
MANOR- After a lengthy process of gathering stakeholder input, a nation-wide search which included the review of 48 applicants, and a comprehensive interview process of the top applicants, the Manor ISD School Board is pleased to announce and welcome back Dr. Robert Sormani as the lone finalist for Superintendent of the Manor Independent School District.
Dr. Robert Sormani has spent 23 years in education, most recently as Associate Superintendent for Instruction and Innovation in Hutto ISD. During his time in Hutto ISD, he worked with a team to create a district-wide approach for early literacy, mentoring principals, and overseeing the creation of the Hutto Virtual Academy. His professional experiences include serving as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in Manor ISD; as a middle school principal for almost nine years in Round Rock ISD; three years as an assistant principal in Round Rock and Austin; and five years teaching US History at Dobie Middle School in Austin ISD.
Dr. Sormani is a three-time degree earner from the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a Doctoral Degree in Educational Administration in 2016, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration in 2006 and a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in History in 1997. He holds teaching certificates for Secondary History and ELA and holds a Superintendency Certificate.
Dr. Sormani has been happily married to Diana Sormani for over 18 years, and together they have three children. Diana and Robert are avid runners, enjoy traveling and are always up for a new adventure. While Dr. Sormani is a lifelong Texan hailing from the Houston area, Diana grew up on US Air Force bases in Europe. They are both excited to move to the Manor area not too far from Diana's parents and just down Highway 290 from Dr. Sormani's family in Houston.
Manor ISD Board President Monique Celedon believes Dr. Sormani is a great fit to serve the district as its next leader.

Dr. Sormani looks forward to working with the School Board, parents, staff, students, and the Manor ISD community on a shared vision of providing the very best educational experiences for all students.
“I am honored to be able to return Manor ISD and serve this wonderful community again. I look forward to increasing the academic achievement to all of our students” said Dr. Sormani.
The Manor ISD School Board will officially vote on the position at a special called meeting on April 28th. Pending approval, Dr. Sormani will begin his role as Superintendent on May 1st, 2023.

El Dr. Robert Sormani ha dedicado 23 años a la educación, más recientemente como Superintendente Asociado de Instrucción e Innovación en Hutto ISD. Durante su tiempo en Hutto ISD, trabajó con un equipo para crear un enfoque distrital para la alfabetización temprana, asesorando a los directores y supervisando la creación de la Academia Virtual Hutto. Su experiencia profesional incluye servir como Director de Currículo e Instrucción en Manor ISD; como director de escuela intermedia durante casi nueve años en Round Rock ISD; tres años como subdirectora en Round Rock y Austin; y cinco años enseñando Historia de los Estados Unidos en la Escuela Intermedia Dobie en Austin ISD.
El Dr. Sormani obtuvo tres títulos de la Universidad de Texas en Austin, recibió un Doctorado en Administración Educativa en 2016, una Maestría en Administración Educativa en 2006 y una Licenciatura en Inglés con especialización en Historia en 1997. Tiene certificados de enseñanza para Historia Secundaria y ELA y tiene un Certificado de Superintendencia.
El Dr. Sormani ha estado felizmente casado con Diana Sormani durante más de 18 años y juntos tienen tres hijos. Diana y Robert son ávidos corredores, disfrutan viajar y siempre están listos para una nueva aventura. Mientras que el Dr. Sormani es un tejano de toda la vida proveniente del área de Houston, Diana creció en las bases de la Fuerza Aérea de EE. UU. en Europa. Ambos están emocionados de mudarse al área de Manor no muy lejos de los padres de Diana y justo al final de la autopista 290 de la familia del Dr. Sormani en Houston.
La presidenta de la junta de Manor ISD, Monique Celedon, cree que el Dr. Sormani encaja perfectamente para servir al distrito como su próximo líder.

El Dr. Sormani espera trabajar con la Junta Escolar, los padres, el personal, los estudiantes y la comunidad de Manor ISD en una visión compartida de brindar las mejores experiencias educativas para todos los estudiantes.
“Me siento honrado de poder regresar a Manor ISD y servir a esta maravillosa comunidad nuevamente. Espero aumentar el rendimiento académico de todos nuestros estudiantes”, dijo el Dr. Sormani.
La Mesa Escolar de Manor ISD votará oficialmente sobre el puesto en una reunión especial convocada el 28 de abril. Pendiente de aprobación, el Dr. Sormani comenzará su función como Superintendente el 1 de mayo de 2023.
