Special Olympics Basketball Competition
Special Olympics Basketball Competition: Manor ISD had 22 scholars travel to San Marcos, Texas on Saturday, February 25th to compete in the Area 13 Special Olympics Basketball Competition. Head of Delegation and Coach, Eric Cavalli, and volunteers, Trisha Meredith, Amos Keith (MHS), Maria Gasang (MHS), Florian Flores (MHS), Joshua Borbe (MHS), Carlajoy Sarita (MHS), and Sarah Henderson (Parent) supported scholars at the competition. Several members from the Manor ISD community, including friends and family members of athletes also attended to cheer on and support our scholars. Congratulations to all of our athletes!
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Nineteen scholars competed in the Team Skills event at Goodnight Middle School in San Marcos. The Team Skills event provides a developmental opportunity for athletes to compete as a five person team, working together to score a basket without any defensive pressure. Manor ISD teams earned gold, silver, and bronze medals while playing against teams from Hutto, Pflugerville, San Marcos, and Lockhart ISD. San Marcos, and Lockhart ISD.
3 on 3 Competition: Sean Barlow, Andrew Suchil, and Richard Medlock from Manor New Tech Middle School played in the half-court, 3 on 3 competition at the Jowers Center on the Texas State University Campus in San Marcos. The team went undefeated in their two games and won gold in the 8-15 year old division.
