MISD Partners With Texas State University to Build Teacher Capacity

Manor ISD is embarking upon two very exciting program initiatives to build teacher capacity and create highly qualified teachers from within our organization and beyond.

Beginning May 18th, Manor ISD has partnered with Texas State University to establish the Grow Your Own program. This program has recruited many current Manor ISD employees and will be supporting them in completing both a bachelor's degree and teacher certification in the areas of Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and English as a Second Language Education. This initiative helps current employees to advance their careers while remaining on the job and working full time.

Manor ISD has established a Teacher Residency Program for 2022-23 at Bluebonnet Trail Elementary School and Pioneer Crossing Elementary School. The district will employ and compensate full-time student teachers, known as Teacher Residents, for the entire upcoming school year. Residents will learn and serve hands-on alongside currently certified and cooperating teachers. Upon program completion, Teacher Residents will be offered full-time permanent teaching positions with Manor ISD!
