MISD Special Olympics Athletes Go For The Gold!
Special Olympics Competiton Manor ISD Special Olympics athletes competed in two sporting events this year, Basketball and Track and Field. Scholars were successful, earning gold, silver, and bronze medals, as well as ribbons for 4th place and participation. Head of Delegation, Trisha Meredith, and volunteers, Maria Gasang (MHS), Carole Rondilla (MHS) and Rachael Meredith (community member) supported the athletes at the events. Michele McKinley (Executive Director of Special Education), Rick Bean (Assistant Director of Special Education) the athletes’ friends and family attended and were a great support as well!
Shoot, Dribble, Pass! On Saturday, March 12, 2022, the athletes traveled to Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas to participate in the Area 13 Special Olympics Basketball Tournament in San Marcos at The Jowers Center. The athletes competed in the individual events: shooting, dribbling, and passing and were given a score based on an average of the three skills.

Competencia de Olimpiadas Especiales Los atletas de Olimpiadas Especiales de Manor ISD compitieron en dos eventos deportivos este año, Baloncesto y Atletismo. Los estudiantes tuvieron éxito y ganaron medallas de oro, plata y bronce, así como cintas por el 4to lugar y participación. La jefa de delegación, Trisha Meredith, y los voluntarios, Maria Gasang (MHS), Carole Rondilla (MHS) y Rachael Meredith (miembro de la comunidad) apoyaron a los atletas en los eventos. Michele McKinley (Directora Ejecutiva de Educación Especial), Rick Bean (Subdirector de Educación Especial), los amigos y familiares de los atletas asistieron y también fueron un gran apoyo.
¡Dispara, dribla, pasa! El sábado 12 de marzo de 2022, los atletas viajaron a la Universidad Estatal de Texas en San Marcos, Texas, para participar en el Torneo de Baloncesto de las Olimpiadas Especiales del Área 13 en San Marcos en The Jowers Center. Los atletas compitieron en las pruebas individuales: tiro, regate y pase y recibieron una puntuación basada en el promedio de las tres habilidades.
