Seven New Coronavirus Cases Reported in Manor ISD

MANOR, TX (January 14, 2021)— Today the Manor ISD School Health Services Department and administrators in Manor ISD were notified of a scholar and a staff member at Manor Senior High School, a scholar at Blake Manor Elementary, a staff member at Presidential Meadows Elementary School, a scholar Decker Elementary School, a scholar at Decker Middle School and a Transportation staff member who have tested positive for Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. As precautionary measures, we are following the recommendation from our local health officials. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the names of the individuals or details that may identify them.  

Based on guidance from the Austin Public Health Department, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Manor ISD Health Services department, Manor ISD is requiring scholars and staff at Manor Senior High School, Blake Manor Elementary, Presidential Meadows Elementary, Decker Elementary, Decker Middle School and district transportation who were identified to have been in close contact with the individual on the campus who tested positive for COVID-19 to self-quarantine until they have met certain criteria. 

 

Beginning Friday, January 15, impacted scholars will receive asynchronous instruction. Then starting Tuesday, January 19 scholars will receive asynchronous and synchronous instruction until they return to school.

 

The Manor ISD Operations department took the precaution of closing the affected facilities to sanitize all areas. All other scholars at Manor Senior High School, Blake Manor Elementary, Presidential Meadows Elementary, Decker Elementary, Decker Middle School will continue to receive in-person instruction at the campus. It is safe to return to school on Friday, January 15.

 

The Manor ISD Health Services Department immediately began contact tracing and tracking to identify those individuals who were in close contact. All those who were determined to be in close contact with the individual who tested positive have been notified so that they can be tested and/or monitored for symptoms.

 

Manor ISD is working with the Austin Public Health Department to monitor this situation closely. We will keep our community informed as we receive more information.

MANOR, TX (14 enero, 2021) - Hoy, el Departamento de Servicios de Salud Escolar de Manor ISD y los administradores de Manor ISD fueron notificados de un estudiante y un miembro del personal de Manor Senior High School, un estudiante de Blake Manor Elementary, un miembro del personal de Presidential Meadows Elementary School, un estudiante de Decker Elementary School, un estudiante de la Escuela Intermedia Decker y un miembro del personal de Transporte que dio positivo por Coronavirus, también conocido como COVID-19. A partir del viernes 15 de enero, los estudiantes afectados recibirán instrucción asincrónica. Luego, a partir del martes 19 de enero, los estudiantes recibirán instrucción asincrónica y sincrónica hasta que regresen a la escuela.

 

El departamento de operaciones de Manor ISD tomó la precaución de cerrar las instalaciones afectadas para desinfectar todas las áreas. Todos los demás estudiantes de Manor Senior High School, Blake Manor Elementary, Presidential Meadows Elementary, Decker Elementary, Decker Middle School continuarán recibiendo instrucción en persona en el campus. Es seguro regresar a la escuela el viernes 15 de enero.

 

El Departamento de Servicios de Salud comenzó inmediatamente la localización de contactos y seguimiento para identificar a aquellos individuos que estaban en contacto cercano. Todos aquellos que se determinó que estaban en contacto cercano con la persona que dio positivo en la prueba han sido notificados para que puedan ser evaluados y / o monitoreados para detectar síntomas. 

 

Manor ISD está trabajando con el Departamento de Salud Pública de Austin para monitorear de cerca esta situación. Mantendremos informada a nuestra comunidad a medida que recibamos más información.
