Fellowship of Christian Athletes Coach of the Year Award 

 

Manor, TX (April 1, 2021) - Growing up Brian Marshall knew he wanted to become either a coach or an actor. However, it wasn’t until after attending Prairie View A&M University to play college football that Marshall visited his alma mater, Reagan High School to attend a pep rally. After speaking with a former Theatre Arts teacher, Marshall decided to apply to be a substitute teacher at Reagan High School.  

 

After completing his teaching certification, Marshall began teaching Speech and coaching football, wrestling, and track. 

 

Marshall has taught several different subjects including Heath, Physical Education, Communication Applications, Speech, Teen Leadership, Special Education Inclusion, Credit Recovery, and AVID. 

 

Marshall's coaching career spans the past 14 years and stands out to his student-athletes the most through his work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been a priority for Marshall to keep his student-athletes involved in FCA. 

 

Coach Marshall continued to host virtual meetings and participation in the program grew even in spite of a number of issues faced during this year. His efforts to keep the meetings scheduled and student-athletes engaged are only a few reasons why Coach Marshal was selected for the FCA Coach of the Year Award.

 

“I was adamant that we needed to continue our FCA meetings,” said Coach Brian Marshall. “We have utilized Zoom to meet and continue to press forward. I even included other students from different school districts in the Manor FCA meetings.” 

 

FCA nominates coaches from numerous schools over the Greater Austin area. These coaches are nominated for their strong core values that align with FCA: Integrity, Serving, Teamwork, and Excellence.

 

Manor FCA also provides scholarships to student-athletes. Two of Marshall’s Student Leaders, Bar Htoo and Isaiah Arguello have received the FCA Donar Scholarship this year. 

 

“God deserves all of the glory and my FCA scholars deserve all the credit,” reflected Marshall. “Because without them there would not be a Manor FCA. I am blessed to be a vessel to these scholars.”

Premio al Entrenador del Año de la Confraternidad de Atletas Cristianos

 

Manor, TX (1 de abril de 2021) - Mientras crecía, Brian Marshall sabía que quería convertirse en entrenador o actor. Sin embargo, no fue hasta después de asistir a la Universidad Prairie View A&M para jugar fútbol americano universitario que Marshall visitó su alma mater, Reagan High School para asistir a un mitin. Después de hablar con un ex maestro de artes teatrales, Marshall decidió postularse para ser maestro sustituto en Reagan High School.

 

Después de completar su certificación como maestro, Marshall comenzó a enseñar oratoria y a entrenar fútbol, lucha libre y atletismo.

 

Marshall ha enseñado varias materias diferentes que incluyen salud, educación física, aplicaciones de comunicación, habla, liderazgo adolescente, inclusión de educación especial, recuperación de créditos y AVID.

 

La carrera de entrenador de Marshall abarca los últimos 14 años y se destaca más entre sus estudiantes-atletas a través de su trabajo con Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Durante la pandemia de COVID-19, ha sido una prioridad para Marshall mantener a sus estudiantes-atletas involucrados en FCA.

 

El entrenador Marshall continuó organizando reuniones virtuales. Sus esfuerzos por mantener las reuniones programadas y los estudiantes-atletas comprometidos son solo algunas de las razones por las que el entrenador Marshal fue seleccionado para el premio al entrenador del año de la FCA. La participación en el programa creció incluso a pesar de una serie de problemas enfrentados durante este año.

 

"Me mantuve firme en que necesitábamos continuar con nuestras reuniones de la FCA", dijo el entrenador Brian Marshall. “Hemos utilizado Zoom para reunirnos y seguir avanzando. Incluso incluí a otros estudiantes de diferentes distritos escolares en las reuniones de Manor FCA ".

 

FCA nómina entrenadores de numerosas escuelas en el área metropolitana de Austin. Estos entrenadores están nominados por sus sólidos valores fundamentales que se alinean con FCA: integridad, servicio, trabajo en equipo y excelencia.

 

Manor FCA también ofrece becas a estudiantes deportistas. Dos de los Estudiantes Líderes de Marshall, Bar Htoo e Isaiah Arguello, han recibido la Beca FCA Donar este año.

 

"Dios se merece toda la gloria y mis alumnos de la FCA merecen todo el crédito", reflexionó Marshall. “Porque sin ellos no habría Manor FCA. Tengo la bendición de ser un recipiente para estos estudiantes ".
