Manor ISD Welcomes Nita Fields as New Director of Counseling

Manor ISD has named Nita Fields as its new Director of Counseling, bringing more than 30 years of experience leading comprehensive school counseling programs and supporting student success in districts across Texas.

Throughout her career, Fields has worked in school districts of all sizes and at every grade level, building comprehensive counseling programs that help students thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Most recently, she served as a counselor at Brady High School, where she was recognized as the 2026 Rhosine Fleming Texas High School Counselor of the Year by the Texas Counseling Association and was named the 2025-2026 Region 15 School Counselor of the Year for her outstanding service to students and mentorship of fellow counselors.

Over the course of her career, Fields has led initiatives that expanded college and career readiness opportunities, strengthened graduation planning, increased dual credit access, coordinated testing programs, developed career exploration events and mentored new counselors across Texas. Her experience spans elementary, middle and high school counseling, giving her a unique perspective on supporting students throughout every stage of their educational journey.

"I've been fortunate in my career to work in districts large and small across all grade levels throughout the state of Texas," said Fields. "I am excited to bring my three decades of experience as a professional school counselor to the team of counselors with Manor ISD. As a team, my hope is that we provide the best level of service to our students and families to prepare them for their future paths."

As Director of Counseling, Fields will lead Manor ISD's comprehensive counseling program, partnering with campus counselors to strengthen student support systems and ensure every scholar has access to the academic, social-emotional, college and career resources needed to succeed.
