Manor ISD Selects Carlesa Dixon as Next Athletic Director

Manor ISD has selected Carlesa Dixon as its next Athletic Director, bringing to the role extensive experience as both a district-level athletic administrator and longtime coach, along with a strong track record of leading athletic programs focused on student success.

Dixon joins Manor ISD from Humble ISD, one of the larger school districts in Texas, serving more than 48,000 students across more than 40 campuses. She most recently served as Assistant Athletic Director and Interim Athletic Director, supporting athletic programs across five high schools and 11 middle schools. Prior to her district-level leadership experience, Dixon spent more than a decade as a campus athletic leader and head basketball coach across multiple Texas school districts, earning six Coach of the Year honors, leading teams to seven district championships, and guiding programs to multiple regional and state tournament appearances. She is a Certified Athletic Administrator and holds a master’s degree in Athletic Administration.

In addition to her extensive coaching and administrative experience, she competed at the collegiate level at University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Wichita State University, and later played basketball professionally for the Umeå Comets in Sweden. 

As part of the selection process, Manor ISD invited the community to share feedback through a survey identifying the most important qualities for the district’s next athletic director. The top three qualities identified were previous experience as a coach, prior experience as an athletic director, and experience competing at the collegiate or professional level.

“I’m both honored and excited to join the Manor ISD team and become part of a community that clearly cares deeply about its students,” Dixon said. “Athletics can shape confidence, character, and belonging, and I’m honored to serve Manor ISD students, support our coaches, and work alongside families and community partners to create positive experiences for every student.”

Manor ISD will share opportunities for community members to meet Dixon at future events. Once details are finalized, information will be shared through the district’s official social media platforms. Dixon will begin serving as Manor ISD’s Athletic Director later this January.
