Manor ISD Names Peter Hopkins Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator at Manor High School

Peter Hopkins has been named the new Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator at Manor High School, bringing a proven leader known for building culture, structure, and sustained pride within competitive athletic programs.

Hopkins joins Manor High School after serving as the Associate Head Football Coach, Offensive and Recruiting Coordinator at Humble High School, where he helped guide a program competing in one of the most challenging 6A UIL Football districts in the state. His work focused on building discipline, energy, and accountability that extend beyond the field and into the classroom and community.

During his time at Humble, Hopkins helped lead the program to its best overall start and record since 2019, with 30+ All-District honors earned by student-athletes. His leadership and impact were recognized with multiple Coach of the Week honors, along with being named Coach of the Year. He also oversaw day-to-day athletic operations, implemented a character development program and increased student-athlete attendance.

Hopkins brings experience from both the high school and collegiate levels, including coaching stops at Louisiana Tech University, Kilgore College, Tyler Junior College, La Marque High School, and Klein Oak High School, where he helped develop championship teams, top-ranked offenses, and student-athletes who advanced to the next level.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Hopkins to Manor High School,” said Athletic Director Carlesa Dixon. “His ability to build strong foundations, mentor young leaders, and create pride and loyalty within a program aligns with our vision for our students and our athletic community.”

Hopkins will officially begin his role this spring as he prepares to lead the Mustangs into a new chapter focused on growth, unity, and excellence on and off the field.
