Manor ISD Names Mickey Priddy Director of Transportation
Manor ISD has named Mickey Priddy as the district's new Director of Transportation, bringing more than 16 years of leadership experience in student transportation operations, workforce development and public safety to the role.
Priddy most recently served as Operations Supervisor for Austin ISD, where he oversaw daily transportation operations for more than 175 employees, led workforce planning, managed safety and compliance efforts, and partnered with campus leaders and families to support students across one of Texas' largest school districts. Before that, he served as Operations Supervisor for Manor ISD Transportation, where he led daily operations for the department, supervised more than 65 transportation employees, coordinated routing and dispatch operations, and served as the primary liaison to campuses and the community.
Throughout his career, Priddy has built a reputation for developing high-performing teams, strengthening operational systems and keeping student safety at the center of every decision. He also brings more than 26 years of experience as a Texas peace officer and corrections officer, along with numerous transportation certifications and extensive experience training school bus drivers across the region.
"Transportation is the first experience a child has with school every single morning and the last experience they carry home every single afternoon," Priddy said. "We are not moving students from one point to another. We are carrying somebody's most precious person in this world, and we have made a promise to every family that we will do it safely, reliably and with dignity."
As Director of Transportation, Priddy will oversee the district's transportation operations, including routing, fleet coordination, driver recruitment and training, safety initiatives and customer service for students and families.
A Manor resident, Priddy said he is honored to serve the community he calls home.
"I am not here to manage a department. Management maintains what already exists," Priddy said. "I am here to lead a mission. I am here to build something with this team, for this community, in this place that I call home."
Priddy began his transportation career as a part-time school bus driver in 2011 before advancing into leadership positions in Leander ISD, Manor ISD and Austin ISD. His experience spans transportation operations, employee development, crisis management, labor relations and community engagement.
