Manor ISD Names Darrell Baty as New Principal of Decker Middle School

Manor ISD has named Darrell Baty as the new principal of Decker Middle School.

Baty brings more than two decades of experience in public education, including leadership roles at the campus and district levels. He currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at Manor New Technology High School and previously served as the district’s Executive Director of Research, Data, and Accountability, where he has helped guide districtwide efforts related to student achievement, accountability, and continuous improvement. 

Throughout his career, Baty has served as a middle school principal, assistant principal, instructional technology leader, curriculum supervisor, and classroom teacher. His experience includes serving as principal of McCowan Middle School in DeSoto ISD, as well as multiple campus leadership roles supporting student achievement, teacher development, and school culture.

“I am incredibly excited to begin this journey with the Decker Middle School community,” Baty said. “Together, we will build on the school’s strengths, create new opportunities for growth, and ensure that every Raven is empowered with the confidence, character, and skills needed for a bright future”.

Baty holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce and is currently completing the dissertation phase of a Doctor of Organizational Leadership program. He also holds a Texas Principal EC-12 certification and has extensive experience leading professional development and instructional improvement initiatives.
