Manor ISD Leads Central Texas with 83 Students Earning Associate Degrees Before High School Graduation

For 83 Manor ISD students, graduation this year comes with more than a high school diploma. It comes with a college degree too.

This spring, 83 Manor ISD seniors will graduate with associate degrees from Austin Community College before they even walk the stage for high school graduation, giving Manor ISD the highest number of students earning associate degrees at a single high school in Central Texas.

The vast majority of those students are part of the Manor High School Early College Program, where students take college courses alongside their high school coursework, allowing them to earn up to two years of college credit at no cost to families.

For many students, this milestone represents years of hard work, perseverance, and determination as they balanced the demands of high school and college-level classes at the same time.

“This achievement is incredible, not just because of the number, but because of what it represents for our students and families,” said Manor ISD Superintendent Dr. Robert Sormani. “These students are proving what is possible when schools create opportunities and students rise to meet them. They are graduating with a tremendous head start on their futures, and our entire community should be proud.”

For some students, earning an associate degree means entering a four year university as a junior. For others, it means beginning a career with a college credential already completed. For many families, it also represents thousands of dollars saved in future college tuition costs.

The Early College Program continues to open doors for students across Manor ISD, helping students earn college credit, industry certifications, and real world experience before graduating high school.
