Manor ISD Earns Highest Statewide Honor for Theatre Education

Manor ISD has been recognized by the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA) with the highest distinction awarded through its 2026 Awards of Distinction program, highlighting the district's commitment to excellence in theatre education and student opportunities in the performing arts.
In addition to the district-wide recognition, all four Manor ISD campuses with theatre programs earned Exemplary Campus distinctions, including:
The Awards of Distinction recognize schools and districts that make outstanding contributions to theatre education through achievement, advocacy, student participation, resource development, and community engagement. Campuses are evaluated across several areas, including theatrical performances, student involvement in University Interscholastic League (UIL) contests, theatre technology, access to performance spaces, and support for fine arts programs.
"This recognition reflects the incredible work happening in our theatre programs every day," said Manor ISD Fine Arts Director Kellen Segura. "Our theatre educators create opportunities for students to grow as performers, leaders, collaborators, and creative thinkers. To have every eligible campus earn Exemplary status while the district receives the highest level of recognition is a testament to the dedication of our students, staff, families, and community."
To earn an Award of Distinction, schools and districts submit a comprehensive application demonstrating their commitment to theatre education and student engagement. Awards are presented on a tiered scale, with Exemplary representing the highest campus-level distinction.
Manor ISD and its campuses will be recognized during the Texas Educational Theatre Association's TheatreFest Awards Ceremony on October 2, 2026, in Galveston.
