Manor ISD Child Nutrition Department Earns National Recognition with Five Healthy Meals Incentive Awards

Manor ISD’s Child Nutrition Department is leading the way in providing healthy, innovative meals for students, earning five prestigious Healthy Meals Incentive (HMI) awards from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Action for Healthy Kids. This marks the highest number of awards received by any school district in Texas so far this year, further solidifying Manor ISD’s commitment to student health and wellness.

The HMI awards recognize school districts across the country that demonstrate excellence in child nutrition programs. Manor ISD stood out among its peers, receiving awards in the following categories:

  • Innovative School Lunch Makeover – Recognizing Manor ISD’s creative approach to revitalizing school meals with nutritious and appealing options.
  • Innovation in the Cultural Diversity of School Meals – Honoring the district’s commitment to offering meals that reflect the rich cultural diversity of its students.
  • Innovation in the Preparation of School Meals – Acknowledging the use of modern techniques and strategies to prepare fresh, high-quality meals efficiently.
  • Innovation in Nutrition Education – Celebrating Manor ISD’s efforts to educate students on the importance of healthy eating habits.
  • Lunch Trailblazer – Recognizing the district as a leader in pushing the boundaries of school lunch programs to better serve students.
