Manor ISD Achieves Milestone, Exits TEA Monitoring

Manor ISD has officially met all the requirements necessary to remove the district and Board of Trustees from monitoring by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). This achievement marks the end of a multi-year journey that began in 2019, when TEA placed the district under monitoring due to areas in need of improvement.

Since then, Manor ISD has made significant strides in strengthening governance and focusing on student outcomes during Board Meetings. Through the dedication of its Trustees, the Board has successfully addressed every recommendation from TEA, leading to the agency’s decision to lift its oversight as of January 9, 2025.

“This milestone is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our board,” said Manor ISD Board President Ana Cortez. “We have worked diligently to create lasting improvements that will benefit our students for generations. Exiting TEA monitoring is a victory for the entire Manor ISD family, and we will continue striving for excellence in all that we do.”

Superintendent Dr. Robert Sormani emphasized that while TEA’s monitoring has concluded, the district’s mission to serve, solve problems, and lead with integrity remains a top priority. “This accomplishment demonstrates what’s possible when we work together with a focus on student success,” said Dr. Sormani. “We are proud of how far we’ve come, and we remain committed to ensuring that every student in Manor ISD has access to the highest quality education.”
