Dr. Malaki Hawkins Named Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Affairs

Dr. Malaki Hawkins has been named the district's new Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Affairs. Dr. Hawkins, whose extensive background in education spans over two decades, will spearhead initiatives to enrich instructional programs and foster an inclusive educational environment across the district.
Dr. Hawkins joins the central office team after serving as Principal of Lagos Elementary, where she led the successful opening and administration of the school since 2017. Before her role at Lagos Elementary, Dr. Hawkins served as Principal and Assistant Principal at what was formerly Manor Elementary School, demonstrating her adeptness in school administration and educational leadership.
Educated at Texas State University and The University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned a Doctor of Education in Education Administration, Dr. Hawkins brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. She is currently pursuing her Superintendent Certification at Texas A&M University Central Texas. Her academic foundation is further supported by her experience as an Adjunct Professor at Austin Community College and a Lecturer at Texas State University, positions that keep her at the cutting edge of educational strategies and adult learning principles.
Dr. Hawkins's approach to education is characterized by a commitment to building strong community relationships and fostering a supportive learning environment. Her proficiency in developing effective instructional programs and her emphasis on positive reinforcement and team building are set to enhance Manor ISD's work to support student success.

Dr. Hawkins will officially assume her responsibilities as Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Affairs after the school year ends.
