Board of Trustees Names Third Future Schools As Charter Partner for Manor Middle Schools’ 1882 Partnership
The Manor ISD Board of Trustees has selected Third Future Schools (TFS) as the charter school operator for Manor Middle School's 1882 Partnership. The decision marks a significant step in Manor ISD’s ongoing commitment to improving student outcomes through strategic partnerships that provide additional resources, innovative programs, and enhanced academic opportunities.
Why Third Future Schools?
Third Future Schools is a nationally recognized charter school network with a proven track record of transforming schools and preparing students for the future workforce. Their approach aligns with Manor ISD’s goal of equipping students with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to succeed. The Manor ISD Board of Trustees approved the selection of TFS following a rigorous evaluation process that included community input, performance data analysis, and alignment with district goals for student success.

Why an 1882 Partnership?
Previously, Manor Middle School had been able to avoid an 1882 partnership as the campus had been expected to receive a passing grade for the 2022-2023 school year, but if the 2023-2024 accountability score were to not meet standards it would mark the fourth year the campus would receive a failing score. This would put the campus and the entire district at risk for being taken over by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
The TEA strongly encourages districts in similar situations to explore the 1882 partnership option, as it allows for local decision-making in selecting a charter school partner. The partnership also delays the possibility of TEA taking over the district for two years and provides time for the district to improve its academic performance at Manor Middle School.
Next Steps
The next phase of the partnership involves developing a contract that will outline specific offerings, programs, and operational terms. Once finalized, the contract will be presented to the Manor ISD Board of Trustees for potential approval at an upcoming meeting.
