Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Maria Trivino, BSN, RN

I graduated from Azusa Pacific University in California in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I was one of very few students who completed the rigorous nationally rated nursing program while being a full-time college athlete. Upon graduation, I worked as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Shortly after my post-graduate training, I transitioned my focus into surgery, and have worked as an Operating Room Nurse for several multi-specialty surgery centers and high caliber hospitals in Los Angeles since 2006. I have gained a wealth of experience in leadership and management roles in the peri-operative setting, and have spearheaded two overseas surgical missions’ trips to the Philippines during my tenure. I have been a Nurse for 15 years, and this is my second year working as a school nurse at Manor Middle School. I know we are living in unusual times, but I am very excited to have this opportunity to work with our students and to help meet the needs of our community! My husband and I moved from Los Angeles to Austin in 2019. He is a science teacher at MMS, so I love being on the same schedule as him! When we’re not at work, we enjoy spending time with friends and family, home remodeling, playing volleyball, and growing our entertainment business. We have a dog named Kiba, and my husband and I are joyfully expecting our first child in January.

Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Nydia Gamez, LVN

I graduated from Temple College in 2014 where I obtained my license in Vocational Nursing. After graduation, I worked with the geriatric population in a long-term care facility where I was able to apply integrated nursing principles related to patient safety, medication administration, planning and illness prevention methods, and compassionate care. While doing so, I gained vast experience with high volume vaccination administration clinics. In fact, it was through a flu -shot clinic that led me to employment with Manor ISD, and I have been a school nurse with the district now for 6 years! I have a true passion for our students and our community.  And it is my utmost goal to inspire our scholars to reach their fullest potential and achieve their greatest dreams.

While I’m not at MMS, I enjoy immersing myself in the creative arts. My creative outlet includes designing customized apparel, crafting personalized items, and making anything that brings a smile to someone’s face! I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
