Child Find

Child Find is the process by which districts and public charter schools identify, locate, and evaluate children in need of special education services,under the federal requirement of the Individual with Disabilities Education Act. Schools are responsible for conducting Child Find activities for students that reside in their attendance zones.

All children from birth to 21 with disabilities or suspected of having a disability, regardless of the severity of their disabilities, and who are in need of special education and related services, must be identified, located, and evaluated. This includes children who are being homeschooled or who are in private schools in Manor ISD attendance zones.

Anyone can start the process of referring a child for an evaluation for special education services. If you're concerned about your child's learning, playing, speech, or socialization with others and suspect a disability, please call the special education department in Manor ISD at 512-278-4400.

All services, including the evaluation, are at no cost.
