Mission
Our mission is to ensure the academic, linguistic, and social-emotional success of Emergent Bilingual scholars through culturally responsive, innovative programming and community engagement.
About Our Scholars
The Manor Independent School District (ISD) has seen a consistent increase in its scholar population, with over 9,000 enrolled scholars, 45% of whom are emergent bilingual. The students at Manor ISD come from a variety of linguistic backgrounds, collectively speaking at least 48 different languages. The top five languages spoken within the district are Spanish, Vietnamese, Nepali, Arabic, and Swahili. Embracing this diversity, Manor ISD sees the varied linguistic and cultural backgrounds of its scholars as valuable assets that enrich the learning environment and contribute to community building. As a result, the district is dedicated to nurturing and making the most of this linguistic diversity by offering strong programs that support bilingualism and biliteracy among its scholars.
