These scholarships are meant for students in the Manor ISD or Travis County, or the Greater Austin Area. Be sure to apply for these scholarships first!

Manor Education Foundation Exclusively offered to students graduating from MISD, the MEF annual scholarship is our flagship local award. Applicants must have attended an MISD secondary campus for at least two years, show leadership potential and proven track record, plan to attend college or an approved industry certification program full time, and maintain good academic standing. Texas Telephone Association. A non-profit, philanthropic organization founded to help further the understanding of telephony and advance telecommunications as a career choice, will award six, four-year scholarships this year. Students must be U.S. Citizens, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be able to submit a college acceptance letter with their application. Special consideration to students who will be pursuing degrees in fields related to telecommunications (such as math, business, education, technology, engineering, and computer science, etc.) Submit all applications to D116 by March 26. The Manor ISD scholarship committee will select two final applications from each high school campus to submit to TTA before March 30. Printed applications are available in D116, or download your own at the link above.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Academic Scholarship. A scholarship that recognizes and encourages scholastic achievement for outstanding African American female high school graduates. Requirements include a 3.0 cumulative GPA and plan to enroll in a 4-year academic institution. Selection will be based on academic achievement/extracurricular activities; community service and leadership; essay; and three letters of recommendation. A PDF of the application can be found below. V&E Diversity Scholarships. Providing scholarships with paid summer internship opportunities to achieving Austin-area high school seniors who are interested in pursuing the legal profession and whose demographic has been historically underrepresented in that field (African American, Asian, South Asian, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, or identify as LGBT. Students must also be in the top 20%; minimum SAT of 1100 and ACT of 22 and demonstrate financial need. A completed application should be emailed to . A PDF version can be downloaded below.

April 5

Ruby and August Boecker Scholarship.  Committed to improving the lives of Manor students, the Boecker family has created this scholarship just for you. Applicants must be students of Manor ISD, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, plan to attend college or an accredited vocational program full time, and demonstrate financial need through a short answer response. A PDF of the application can be found below. Submit your application to D116 by April 5th.



April 10

Austin Masonic Lodge #12 Byron G Webster Scholarship. Awarded to one or more upstanding students who are residents of Texas, plan to attend a trade school OR a public college or university in Texas, has demonstrated a strong moral character, and the application of the student's education will help to benefit our society. Dr. Emile Tayar Award. Honoring the memory of one of a beloved MHS teacher, mentor, and friend, Dr. Tayar, this award keeps his legacy alive by supporting MHS and MNT students who plan to pursue a degree in math or engineering at a university. April 23

Hindu Charities Scholarship. Awarded to students who will be entering a technical program or a 2-year school. Students must be US citizens, demonstrate need/low income, and be prepared to write a formal essay of thanks upon receipt as well as attend the Hindu Charities/MHS award ceremony. MHS Parent, Teacher, Student Association Senior Scholarship. Awarded to graduating MHS seniors who are PTSA members; plan to attend a two-year college, university or technical school. Gamma Gamma Boulé Scholarship. This 4-year award is granted to MISD Male, African-American seniors who plan to attend a 4-year college after graduation. Qualifications are: a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate leadership potential, citizenship, and community involvement. The Black American Comptroller Employees Association (BACE) Educational Scholarship.  Awarded to Austin area seniors in the Austin area who plan to attend an accredited, post-secondary educational institution and have a 2.5 GPA or better. Download the application at the link below, or stop by D116 for a printed copy. The NETwork- African American Telecommunication Professionals of AT&T Austin Chapter Scholarship. Awarded to an African American senior with a minimum 2.5 GPA, enrolling in a 4-year, 2 year, or vocational school or program. Austin Community College - DEADLINE: APRIL 1 - The ACC Foundation offers scholarships for ACC students based on financial need, family status, educational background, high school, or academic major. The online General Scholarship Application lets you search, view, and access hundreds of opportunities. Best of all, you only need to submit one application to be considered.

Baylor University - Carr P. Collins Scholars Program - DEADLINE: JANUARY 31 - Collins scholars are academically gifted students who are dedicated to helping others in an effort to develop leaders of tomorrow. These scholars are selected based on leadership, academic ability, and commitment to community service. For more information:

Gettysburg College - DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 1 STEM scholarship program for students interested in STEM fields (Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics). STEM Scholars will have their full demonstrated financial need met for all four years with no loans.Our deadline for Regular Decision admission (using the Common Application) is January 15, and students should file both the CSS Financial Aid Profile and FAFSA by January 15. Southern Methodist University - Hunt Leadership Scholars Program - DEADLINE: JANUARY 15 - The Hunt Leadership Scholarship is on of the most generous and prestigious leadership scholarships in the country. For more information go to :

University of Michigan - Geisinger Scholarship - DEADLINE: JANUARY 17 - This scholarship is awarded to a non-Michigan resident student majoring in engineering at the University of Michigan. Deadline is January 17, 2017. For more information, email:

University of Mississippi - Chancellor's Leadership Class - $1000 Scholarship - DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 15 - information on this and various other scholarships can be found here. Be sure to look for those scholarships that do not require Mississippi residency.

University of Missouri - George C. Brooks Scholarship - DEADLINE: DECEMBER 15 - This scholarship is designed to enhance recruitment and retention of underrepresented students at Mizzou. This scholarship provides $7500 per year for students, plus a nonresident fee waiver for nonresident students. For more information:

University Tutor – write a short essay for the potential to win a $1,000 scholarship. Use the following link to apply,

Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.
