Manor New Tech High School was recognized yet again for their hard work.
The newly formed Titan Interact Club has won the Presidential Citation award from the Central Texas Rotary International Club. This is a very prestigious award and the highest distinction that an Interact club can receive from Rotary. Only three high schools out of more than 50 in the area were able to obtain this award. New Tech High was able to achieve all of this in the first year the organization was established, which is a very difficult distinction.
Titan scholars were chosen for their various campus and community service projects including hosting three No Place for Hate events, a campus-wide positivity push, and creating an on-campus tree planting ceremony. In addition, the Interact Club is also creating a mentorship program with students at Manor New Tech Middle School. Through this club, two students also participated in a leadership camp with other Texas students; while another student is working on studying abroad in Spain.
"I am very proud of our scholars for this honor," said MNTHS Teacher and Interact Club Organizer Adetayo Adeboyejo. "They worked extremely hard to bring the school and the community together through generous acts of service. To earn this award in our first year of existence is a testament to their dedication."
Students will be recognized at ceremony on campus in late January, and will also be recognized at January's MISD Board of Trustee meeting January 28th.
