The Manor Schoolhouse Foundation, along with generous donors, superintendent, MISD Board of Trustees, and district staff, awarded 33 Manor Innovator Grants today, totaling $25,722. These dollars are headed directly to impact students in the Manor Independent School District.
The Manor Innovator Grants are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative and creative instructional approaches in the district. Manor ISD teachers, campuses and departments applied for funding to support innovative programs or projects to support higher levels of student learning.
Projects fell into one of more of the following categories:
- Project Based Learning Initiatives
- Fine Arts Programming
- Academic and Educational Enrichment
- Social Emotional Learning
- Parent Education
“This day wouldn’t have been possible without our investors who responded enthusiastically to the simple truth behind the ongoing fundraiser: “It matters” said Manor Schoolhouse Foundation Director Becky Lott.
“We are blown away by the support. It’s touching to see how many people from all walks of life share our vision for students and teachers.”
Those two words — “It matters" — emerged from interviews with some of the Manor ISD’s best and brightest educators. In a video you can see here, they talked about the big difference even a small donation can make in a time when public education struggles to fund all of its critical needs.
