Manor Senior High School Audio/Video Production Students will be taking over the red carpet at the 2018 Student Video Contest Awards, hosted by the Better Business Bureau and Austin Film Festival.
MSHS students submitted a video called “Integrity: It Can Be Easy to Do the Right Thing”. The competition required students to create a video showing how our future business professionals define integrity and how would they face an ethical dilemma. MSHS was one of five schools who will be winning an award, which will be announced at a ceremony on Sunday, December 9th at the AFS Cinema in Austin from 12-2 pm.
“Students have lots of ideas and there are many opportunities to make creative media, meet deadlines, get their work seen by a larger audience and win awards,” said Philip Goetz, MSHS Audio Video Production and Communication Teacher. “It’s times like this I love teaching because we get to do all four.”
In addition to announcing the 2018 BBB/AFF Student Video Contest winners, the event will screen all entries, offer gift bags and prize drawings, and host a Q&A with industry experts. The ceremony will be hosted by KVUE News Anchor Quita Culpepper. The top prize includes film passes for each team member to the 2019 Austin Film Festival.
Ten schools across Central Texas participated this year, submitting a total of 41 videos.
