As Manor New Tech Middle School continues its second year as a campus, people from across Texas are beginning to notice the unique, innovative campus.
MNTMS has been selected as a finalist for the 2018-19 Exhibit of School Architecture Competition, which showcases new and renovated Texas schools and celebrates excellence in planning and design of the learning environment. The campus will be on exhibit during the annual Texas Association of School Administrators/ Texas Association of School Boards (TASA/TASB) Convention in Austin September 28-30.
MNTMS is an open-spaced campus following a 100% project-based learning model. The school offers energy efficient lighting, maintenance, and small break out spaces for individual and team collaboration. MNTMS is part of the New Tech Network, and students must apply to be admitted. Students then have the option to continue into Manor New Tech High School.
"This recognition for MNTMS is further proof that Manor ISD is a district of innovation, and thinking outside the box when it comes to new concepts for student success," said MISD Superintendent Dr. Royce Avery.
MNTMS will be featured at the convention along with three other finalists. The winner will be announced in January.
