Students from Manor High School continued to learn important lessons even in July.
13 Mustang students participated in the 2018 Expect Respect Summer Youth Leadership Academy in Manor, hosted by the Stop Abuse For Everyone (SAFE) Alliance and the City of Austin/ Travis County Summer Youth Employment Program. Students spent the past five weeks learning about the work of the SAFE Alliance which is dedicated to ending child abuse, domestic violence and assault through prevention, intervention, and advocacy for change.
Students discovered how a non-profit agency works, practiced mock interviews, provided community service in Manor, and developed tools for teaching their peers about harassment. Students also showcased their creative talents, passion and thoughtful ideas to make the community and schools a safer place.
Manor ISD is proud of these students for demonstrating outstanding leadership and helping make our community stronger together!
