More than 800 Manor ISD Middle School students experienced flight thanks to a new partnership between the district and iFly Austin.
The Manor ISD middle school students who flew earned their spot by keeping their grades up, avoiding disciplinary referrals, and by being in class. The trip was a reward to those students who met criteria laid out by all the middle schools back in March.
While there, the students also saw demonstrations by the iFly crew, engaged with engineers, and participated in other STEM-based lessons.
Each student who wanted to had a chance to fly, and Manor ISD administrators including Dr. Royce Avery, Dr. Brian Yearwood, and New Tech Middle Principal Chris Smith got in the wind tunnel as well.
Thank you to iFly for making this unique, engaging, and educational opportunity possible for Manor ISD middle school students!
