UPDATE: The deadline for UTeach Professional Development cohort applications has been extended to Friday, February 2, 2018.
Manor ISD is excited to announce a partnership with UTeach to offer professional development for growing teachers. Teachers will be able to apply to be in the cohort to receive blended professional development. 20 teachers will be selected from the pool of applicants to be part of each cohort. Each class is 4-6 weeks in length. Our first cohort will begin in February and run through July. Additional cohorts will be offered in the future.
The UTeach courses cover a variety of topics such as differentiated instruction, blended learning, flipped classrooms, formative assessment, and inquiry-based learning. The cohort has opportunities to interact through weekly assignments and discussions for each course. Detailed course descriptions can be found here.
Teach Alumni are exempt from taking the required “Foundations of Inquiry Teaching and Learning” course since they have been formally trained in Inquiry-Based Instruction. In addition to the required Foundations course for non-UTeach grads, teachers pick a course from Group A, Group B, and Group C. Once they have completed a four-course sequence of their choice, they will have earned their Graduate Certificate.
Additional information about the program and courses can be found below on the FAQ PDF file as well as on these links:
Teachers will be able to apply to be part of the cohort through the application below. Applications are due January 26 at 4 pm. Email all application materials to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications will be reviewed and candidates notified.
