My name is Vanessa Góngora and I am the Bilingual Literacy Coach at Blake Manor. I live in Austin, TX with my husband, 4 year old daughter and fur baby Linder. We enjoy swimming, going to the movies and traveling to learn about different cultures. I was born in El Paso, TX and moved to Austin  in 1999 to attend college. I graduated from Texas State University with my Bachelors Degree in Sports Science. While pursuing my degree, I worked for Extend-a-Care for kids and this is where I knew that my passion was to teach. I  joined the Blake Manor family in 2010 as a 3rd grade Bilingual Teacher. Since then, I have taught 4th grade, 5th grade, 1st grade, Kindergarten and was the Bilingual Academic Interventionist at BME for 3 years. In my role as a Literacy Coach, I get to combine my love of literacy and teaching. I truly enjoy supporting teachers and watching them grow.  We are a community of learners and I am grateful to work alongside the BME staff. 

Mi nombre es Vanessa Góngora y soy la entrenadora de lectura bilingüe en Blake Manor. Vivo en Austin, TX con mi marido, mi hija de 4 años y mi mascota Linder. Nos gusta nadar, ir al cine y viajar para aprender sobre diferentes culturas. Nací en El Paso, TX y me mudé a Austin en 1999 para asistir a la universidad. Me gradué de la Universidad Estatal de Texas con mi Licenciatura en Ciencias del Deporte. Mientras estudiaba, trabajé con Extend-a-Care y allí supe que mi pasión era ser maestra. Me uní a la familia de Blake Manor en 2010 como maestra bilingüe de tercer grado. Desde entonces, he enseñado 4to, 5to, 1er, Kinder y fui Intervencionista Académica Bilingüe en BME durante 3 años. En mi función como instructora de lectura puedo combinar mi amor por la lectura y la enseñanza. Realmente disfruto apoyar a los maestros y verlos crecer. Somos una comunidad de estudiantes y estoy agradecida de trabajar junto al personal de BME.
