Hello New Tech Family!

My name is Kiera Quiring and I teach 8th Grade Science. This is my 2nd year teaching at MNTMS, and I’m looking forward to an awesome year.

I am a graduate of Virginia Tech, I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology.  I LOVE animals and originally wanted to become a veterinarian but vet school cost A LOT so I decided to become a teacher in the meantime.  Since middle school kids can act like crazy puppies I ended up loving teaching and never pursued vet school.  

Outside of the classroom, most of my time is spent with my dogs.   I have two dogs, a boston terrier and a boxer.  When I’m not teaching, I love to go on hikes with my dogs and eat at new restaurants.  I also love riding horses which I do at a cattle ranch in Manor.  

I have taught mostly science throughout my teaching career but what I love the most about my job is the diversity.  No group of kids are ever the same.  Each year brings a totally different, and unique, set of personalities as well as challenges.  

I’m looking forward to another awesome school year at MNTMS!
