Books, reading, and problem-solving are my passions! I am incredibly excited to be Pioneer Crossing New Tech Elementary School’s librarian. I am a native Austinite who has resided in Pflugerville for the last twenty-two years, where I serve on the city library board. I began my teaching career at age seventeen in child development centers and private schools. I attended Concordia Lutheran University and Austin Community College before transferring to the University of Texas and graduating with a BA in English. Like most librarians in Texas, I earned my Library Information Science Master's degree from the University of North Texas. I taught in the Austin Independent School District before making the move to Manor Independent School District.

I am happily married to my husband, who is an Austin Public Library associate. Our household is also comprised of our twenty-three-year-old college student son, and our twenty-year-old red-eared slider turtle, Corpus. I love books and reading, sports (especially baseball, football, and soccer), movies, yoga, meditation, music, technology, and photography.
