    We are shut down for the remainder of the week out of abundance of caution to a potential COVID exposure. At this time we will be returning to regular workout hours on Monday morningjune June 15th.  if anything should change, we will send out information. The district will be putting out more information shortly.

    Ensuring the safety of our student-athletes, faculty, staff and coaches is the top priority for Manor ISD. Restrictions have lessened and new guidelines have developed. On Monday June 8th, 2020 the Manor ISD Athletic Department, in accordance with UIL rules, will reopen its Athletic Facilities for summer strength and conditioning camp. Only supervised workouts for 2020-2021 registered students will be allowed. The Manor Athletic Complex and The Coliseum will remain closed to non-enrolled students, parents, alumni and visitors for the safety of our students and staff. The following policies and procedures must be followed during the initial phase:

    Times: 8am-10am- Strength & Conditioning; 10:30am-12pm Sports-Specifc Skills Training

    UIL COVID 19 Guidelines are in place to ensure the safety of our student-athletes and coaches: 

    1. IF YOUR SON/DAUGHTER OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD HAS ANY OF THE COVID SYMPTOMS PLEASE NOTIFY COACHES AND STAY HOME UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
      1. Voluntary participation:Workouts are strictly voluntary and not mandatory. Your son/daughter will not be reprimanded should you decide to remain in at-home-shelter. ATHLETIC PHYSICAL MUST BE ON FILE FOR ATHLETES TO PARTICIPATE.
      2. Temperature reading:Student-athletes and coaches will be required to have their temperature taken upon arrival. Anyone with a temperature over 99.6F reading will be asked to go home, and the students’ parents will be contacted. 
      3. Avoid large gatherings: Workout sessions shall be limited to 15 athletes per group outdoor and weight rooms and gyms will maintain 25% capacity. Athletes will also stay in the same group throughout the summer.
      4. Social Distancing & Safety Precautions: Students and staff must maintain at least six feet of distance when not actively working out.  When actively practicing and working out, students and staff must maintain at least ten feet of distance. Masks are mandatory when not exercising. If the student does not have a mask, they will not be permitted to workout that day. We will provide hand sanitizer and wipes for our athletes and coaches.
      5. Practice equipment: Students should not bring any equipment of their own. The coaches will sanitize equipment between groups and after each day of camp.
      6. Food & Water: Students will be required to bring their own waterand will not be allowed to share water or food with other athletes. ALL WATER FOUNTAINS WILL BE OFF LIMITS. STUDENTS WILL BE SENT HOME IF THEY DO NOT BRING THEIR OWN WATER.
      7. Locker rooms: Locker rooms will remain closed for the summer

     

     

    Manor New Tech Arrival and Departure Procedures

    1st Day Arrival-  After temperature check and screenings, students will be spread out 6 feet apart on the football field. Once all students have been screened, they will be broken up into 3 groups  of 15 or less in which they will remain in for the remainder of the strength and conditioning camp.  

     

    Daily Arrival-  All students will arrive at designated areas for temperature and COVID symptom screenings and will be required to check in with a mobile device (QR codes will be available for check-in/attendance purposes). Students will then report to their assigned group where a coach will ensure proper sanitary and social distancing practices are being followed for the duration of the day.

    Departure- Coaches will take their group to the following locations for pick up:

    Group 1  East side of New Tech High School cafeteria (off Joyce Turner Dr.)

    Group 2  North side of New Tech High School cafeteria (parking lot across from Central Admin building)

    Group 3  South side of Central Administration building (street between fieldhouse & admin building)
