My name is Katy Ward. I have been the Art Teacher at Pioneer Crossing Elementary since the doors opened in 2009. I am also the Elementary Visual Arts Lead Teacher for MISD.
I am a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. I have a husband, Travis, and a daughter, Lily. I have a very spoiled indoor calico cat, Sophie, and a colony of 5 outdoor cats: Mama Cottonsocks, Merida, Moana, Socks, and Fennec.
When I am not teaching art, I like to read, travel, garden, sew, care for my cat's babies, spend time with my family, and take naps. We are big fans of Star Wars, Star Trek, and Bluey.
I love teaching Art and I believe every student deserves a quality fine arts education that allows them to enrich and develop their creative self.
