• Dear Manor ISD Staff:

The open enrollment for Major Medical only will begin July 15, 2020 and end August 21, 2020 (online access will be available on July 15, 2020).

*** See attachments for new insurance premiums and plans for 2020-2021***

    Important changes:

    1. Anyone covered with Aetna Major Medical will switch over to the new insurance provider, Blue Cross Blue Shield, for the 2020-2021 plan year starting September 1, 2020.
    2. Scott & White coverage will stay Scott & White unless the employee chooses to switch to Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The enrollment is passive and requires action only if you are making changes to your Medical/Health Insurance plan. If no changes are needed, then no action is necessary.  TRS closes the enrollment on August 21, 2020 and changes cannot be made thereafter.

It is the employee’s responsibility to know which plan they will be rolled into with Blue Cross Blue Shield if no action is takenSEE PAGE 2 OF ATTACHMENT LABELED “ACTIVATE YOUR HEALTH_TRS-ACTIVECARE PLAN HIGHLIGHTS 2020-21”.

If you would like to add a GAP or an Accident plan to supplement your health insurance deductible, please contact Cody Tarver with First Financial at cody.tarver@ffga.com or 903-258-4728 for further information on how this benefit can help. Hospital Gap Plan will stay with Aetna and will cover claims under Blue Cross Blue Shield.

    2020-2021 HEALTH COVERAGE RATES:

Please take note of the NEW monthly Medical insurance rates for the 2020-2021 benefit plan year, as some rates have increased and plans have changed. Also, some plans require a PCP (primary care provider) to be selected.

    FAQs

When does enrollment begin?  When does enrollment end?

Medical enrollment begins July 15, 2020 and ends August 21, 2020. Online access will be available July 15th.   PER TRS, NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE AFTER AUGUST 21, 2020.  It is the employee’s responsibility to know which plan they will be rolled into with Blue Cross Blue Shield if no action is taken and what the new premium will be.

What if I do not need/want to make changes to my insurance?

If the employee does not wish to make any changes, no action is needed and it is not necessary to make an appointment with a representative. The employee’s current health insurance plan will automatically carry over into the ’20-’21 benefit plan year, but the insurance provider will switch over to Blue Cross Blue Shield and it may be necessary to select a PCP (primary care provider) for the employee and dependents. If you are currently enrolled with Scott & White, your plan will stay with Scott & White.

What about my current medical ID card?

Everyone currently covered under Aetna will get a replacement card for the new Blue Cross Blue Shield medical coverage. A replacement card will not be sent to the employee if they are not making changes to their Scott & White medical plans. The employee will continue to utilize their current medical ID card through 8/31/2020.  If the employee has not received a medical ID card or needs a replacement, they may contact TRS-ActiveCare customer service at 866-355-5999 for a replacement card.

How do I enroll if I am making changes to my health insurance plan?

     Two Options Only:

    1. Online Enrollment – Employees are encouraged to log into the First Financial Group of America’s enrollment system (FFEnroll hereafter) beginning July 15 by following the attached online enrollment instructions.  If an employee has problems enrolling through the online system, they may contact the support desk at 855-523-8422 from 7:00am – 5:00pm, M-F.
    2. Schedule an Appointment - Contact the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator, Diana Diaz at benefits@manorisd.net or 512-774-4860 to schedule an appointment (Please attempt the online enrollment prior to requesting an appointment).

What if my spouse and I both work for the same district or another district participating in TRS-ActiveCare?

Married employees who are active contributing TRS members may “pool” their local district funding to use toward the cost of TRS-ActiveCare coverage.

    Pooling

If an employee and spouse both work for the same participating district, funds may be pooled.

    • One employee selects employee and spouse coverage and the other spouse declines coverage: or
    • One employee selects employee and family coverage and the other spouse declines coverage.

    Split

If an employee and spouse work for different participating districts/entities, they may want to pool funds.  The decision to enter into a split premium arrangement must be made during the annual enrollment or within the election period of a special enrollment event.

    • One employee selects employee and spouse coverage and the other spouse declines coverage: or
    • One employee selects employee and family coverage and the other spouse declines coverage.

NOTE: Employees interested in continuing to participate or wish to participate in the Pooling/Spilt must submit their application as soon as possible in order for their application to be submitted and processed accordingly.
