• Dear Decker Middle School Parents,

    The purpose of the standard mode of dress policy at our schools is to encourage uniformity in dress and identity that advocates self-respect, improved academics, and model behavior. The standard mode of dress policy is in addition to the district dress code; it does not replace the Manor ISD dress code policy.

    Dressing for Success at DMS

     These standards of dress and appearance reflect that school is a place of learning, not a place of recreation. ALL school rules, including dress code expectations apply to after-school, field trips and evening activities.  Dress, appearance and hygiene should contribute to a positive and non-disruptive atmosphere; an atmosphere that is conductive to learning and achievement of ALL students in school. 

     The following dress code must be adhered to by all Decker Middle School students:

    • Shirts – Short or long sleeved polo-style shirts. Shirts must be tucked in at all times.     
      • 6th Graders will wear Gray 
      • 7th Graders will wear Maroon
      • 8th Graders will wear Black
    • Pants – Plain or jean khaki, navy or black pants, shorts, and skorts must be worn on the student’s natural waist at all times. Shorts and skorts must be an approved length, which is no shorter than the tips of the fingers when the arms are extended by the sides of the body. Pants, shorts, and skorts must be free of holes. Sweatpants and joggers are not allowed. 
    • Belts – Solid black or brown must be worn if pants have belt loops. 
    • Hoodies are allowed in the grade level colors. Hoodies that are not in grade level colors may not be worn inside the building.  We will not allow hoods to be worn inside the building.
    • Jeans have been added to the district's standard mode of dress. Please make sure that jeans are blue, black, or khaki in color with no rips or tears. It is very important that students come dressed in their standard mode of dress unless told they are allowed to wear something else. The students have looked great as they pass from class to class in their grade level colors. If your family is in need of assistance, please contact one of the counselors at DMS.

    ***On Wednesday's, students may wear a college shirt with their standard bottoms and on Friday's students may wear any Decker Middle School or Manor ISD shirt with standard bottoms.

    Students will not be allowed to wear any of the following:  apparel, jewelry, accessory, or manner of grooming which by virtue of its color, arrangement, trademark, symbol or any other attributes which implies membership or affiliation with a gang or secret society.

    Campus Administration has final discretion in determining the appropriateness of dress.  Any attire deemed inappropriate or a distraction of the learning environment by Administration is prohibited. 

    Students out of compliance with the dress code will be asked to call home for a change of clothing.  If a change of clothing is not available, students will spend the remainder of the day in ISS.  Repeated dress code violations will result in further disciplinary action. 

     
    ***The district/campus will NOT be responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen items. ALL Items brought to campus are at the student’s risk and the student is responsible for his/her property.

    Estimados padres de la escuela secundaria Decker,

    El propósito del modo estándar de la política de vestimenta en nuestras escuelas es fomentar la uniformidad en la vestimenta y la identidad que aboga por la autoestima, la mejora de los académicos y el comportamiento modelo. El modo estándar de la política de vestimenta es además del código de vestimenta del distrito; no reemplaza la política de código de vestimenta ISD de Manor. 

    Vestirse para el éxito en DMS

     Estos estándares de vestimenta y apariencia reflejan que la escuela es un lugar de aprendizaje, no un lugar de recreación. TODAS las reglas de la escuela, incluidas las expectativas del código de vestimenta, se aplican a las actividades después de la escuela, las excursiones y las actividades nocturnas.  La vestimenta, la apariencia y la higiene deben contribuir a una atmósfera positiva y no disruptiva; un ambiente que es conductor para el aprendizaje y el logro de TODOS los estudiantes en la escuela. 

    El siguiente código de vestimenta debe ser respetado por todos los estudiantes de la Escuela Secundaria Decker:

    • Camisas – Camisas de manga corta o larga estilo polo. Las camisas deben estar metidas en todo momento.
      • 6o grado llevará gris
      • 7o grado llevará Maroon
      • 8o grado llevará negro
    • Pantalones – Caqui liso o jean, pantalones marinos o negros, pantalones cortos y skorts deben ser usados en la cintura natural del estudiante en todo momento. Los pantalones cortos y los skorts deben ser una longitud aprobada, que no es más corta que las puntas de los dedos cuando los brazos se extienden por los lados del cuerpo. Los pantalones, pantalones cortos y skorts deben estar libres de agujeros. No se permiten pantalones de sudadera ni corredores.
    • Cinturones – Se debe usar negro o marrón sólido si los pantalones tienen lazos de cinturón.
    • Se permiten sudaderas con capucha en los colores de nivel de grado. Las sudaderas con capucha que no están en colores de nivel de grado no se pueden usar dentro del edificio. No permitiremos que se usen capuchas dentro del edificio.
    • Los vaqueros se han añadido al modo de vestir estándar del distrito. Por favor, asegúrese de que los pantalones vaqueros son de color azul, negro o caqui sin rasgaduras ni lágrimas. Es muy importante que los estudiantes vengan vestidos con su modo estándar de vestir a menos que se les permita usar otra cosa. Los alumnos se han visto geniales al pasar de clase en clase en sus colores de nivel de grado. Si su familia necesita ayuda, comuníquese con uno de los consejeros de DMS.

     

    *** Los miércoles, los estudiantes pueden usar una camisa de la universidad con sus fondos estándar y los estudiantes del viernes pueden usar cualquier camisa de Decker Middle School o Manor ISD con fondos estándar.

    A los estudiantes no se les permitirá llevar ninguno de los siguientes: ropa, joyería, accesorio o forma de aseo que en virtud de su color, disposición, marca comercial, símbolo o cualquier otro atributo que implique membresía o afiliación con una pandilla o sociedad secreta.

    La Administración del Campus tiene la discreción final en la determinación de la idoneidad de la vestimenta. Cualquier vestimenta que la Administración considere inapropiada o una distracción del entorno de aprendizaje está prohibida.

    A los estudiantes que no cumplan con el código de vestimenta se les pedirá que llamen a casa para un cambio de ropa. Si no hay un cambio de ropa disponible, los estudiantes pasarán el resto del día en la ISS. Las violaciones repetidas del código de vestimenta darán lugar a más medidas disciplinarias.
     

    ***El distrito/campus NO será responsable de los artículos dañados, perdidos o robados. TODOS los artículos traídos al campus están bajo el riesgo del estudiante y el estudiante es responsable de su propiedad.
