RTI stands for Response to Intervention. It is simply a system for tracking the interventions that teachers offer a struggling student and documenting how that student is responding. When Tier 1 RTI is implemented well, most students respond positively and experience success. For a small portion of students, some basic interventions are not sufficient, and more intense interventions are needed. All interventions must be documented and verified to ensure that every student has the opportunity to be successful.
