Dual-Language Two-Way Program
Manor ISD offers a dual-language two-way program at the kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade level in three of its elementary schools in the 2022-2023 school year.
2022-23 Participating Campuses (Kindergarten-3rd):
- ShadowGlen Elementary
- Bluebonnet Trail Elementary
- Decker Elementary (1st-3rd only)
Dual Language Two Way Immersion is an educational model that integrates native English speakers and native speakers of Spanish for all or most of the day, with the goals of promoting high academic achievement, first-and-second-language development, and cross-cultural understanding for all students. In dual-language two-way programs, language learning takes place primarily through content and literacy instruction in both languages. For more about the program please see the attached FAQ.
The program is open to all rising Kindergartners for the year 2022-2023* (students previously in dual language programming in previous districts may be eligible depending on availability).

ESL Program
The English as a Second Language Program serves students identified as English learners through rich language and content area instruction that develops fluency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English and academic competency.
English learners in grades PK-12 whose native language is not Spanish, or may not qualify for a bilingual model, may receive instruction through an ESL program which does not include native language instruction. Students served in our ESL program are taught by an ESL certified teacher in a pull-out or inclusionary delivery model.
