My name is Isa Locklear! This is my 4th year teaching in Kindergarten, and I've been volunteering and working in schools my entire life. I am happy to say I've spent my whole teaching career here at PCE!
I was born in Laredo, TX and my family moved back and forth between there and Austin my whole life. My mother is an incredible, astounding teacher and I have looked up to her my entire life. Since I was a part of the 'Tomorrow's Teachers' club in 4th grade, I knew that I was born to teach, just like my mama!
In 2015, I decided to move to Tacoma, Washington for school at the University of Puget Sound. There, I worked toward an English degree with a minor in Education, and I had cherished experiences in schools that made me a better person and better educator.
When I graduated in 2019, I moved back home to Austin to work toward my goal of becoming a certified teacher. I began my graduate school career at Texas State University and I am currently still taking classes to hopefully graduate with my Masters of Education sometime soon. Wish me luck!
I cannot express how truly elated I am to be embarking on this journey with you and your little scholars. I absolutely love kindergarten!
I am looking forward to getting to know you all this year! It is sure going to be one we will never forget.
