On December 1st, 2021, Principal Crystal Brown will be hosting a virtual parent kickoff event to inform the community on how our scholars will benefit from this game-changing, early childhood education program!

  • Titan Regiment Makes Their Mark in History

    Under the direction of senior drum major Saul Flores and junior drum major William Webb, the Titan Regiment has been famed as the first band in MNTHS history to receive a sweepstake of Division 1 Superior ratings with their performance titled “6 Feet...Together” at the Region 18 UIL District Competition!

  • Hispanic Heritage Highlight: Martha Cuellar

    Breakfast tacos, enchiladas, and the infamous Dia De Los Nachos (Day of the Nachos) are some of the most popular dishes served on Thursdays at Manor New Tech High School's cafeteria. Flavorful, mouth-watering, and savory are a few of the words used to describe “Mexican Food Thursday.” The excitement builds as the cafeteria staff works their magic to assemble a pile of nachos drenched in cheese with a side of homemade salsa. As you approach the register, you are greeted by Martha Cuellar and her infectious smile.

  • Hispanic Heritage Highlight: Velma Aleman

    Walking into a first-grade classroom, you may not be sure what to expect. Velma Aleman’s 1st-grade classroom at Presidential Meadows Elementary is bursting with color and excited chatter from young scholars. The scholars are seated 3 to a table in a circle formation around the room and each table of scholars shares a book. As Aleman diligently makes her way around the room, she speaks to the scholars mostly in Spanish but incorporates some English keywords for the dual language scholars.

    Great educators are always willing to go above and beyond for their scholars and Manor ISD’s Bilingual Coordinator, Dora Rodriguez does exactly that. Although her current position does not involve classroom instruction, Rodriguez stepped up to provide help to MISD’s Virtual Learning scholars.

    Manor ISD’s Dual Language Coordinator, Hazel Martinez spends all year-long planning and preparing for Hispanic Heritage Month. If you ever experienced MISD’s Hispanic Heritage Month Festival then you probably felt the enthusiasm and pride. Martinez’s passion and love for celebrating Hispanic culture through our scholar’s achievements is apparent to anyone around her.

    We all know that being a Bus Driver is no easy task. A Bus Driver's main responsibility is to safely transport our scholars, but if you know Juan “Tony” Barrios, his job extends far beyond that. Chances are, if Mr. Tony is your bus driver, you will be greeted with an infectious smile and cheerful attitude that can set anyone’s day in the right direction.

  • Hispanic Heritage Highlight: Esther Uresti

    While most of us are slowly beginning our days in the early hours of 6 AM, Esther Uresti, better known as “Mrs. Esther” is dancing through her custodial duties at Manor ISD’s Central Administration Building. Her music of choice is Regional Mexican! A variety of songs can be heard while she greets arriving staff with a smile on her face.

  • HB4545: Informational Webinar to Learn How This Bill Affects Your Scholar

    On June 16, 2021, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 4545 (HB4545) during the 87th Legislative Session. This law required school districts to provide additional accelerated instruction for scholars who did not take or “did not meet grade level” on the STAAR or STAAR end-of-course assessment in Spring 2021.

  • Manor ISD Wins 2021 TAEA District of Distinction Award

    Manor ISD — Sept. 3, the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) announced the 40 winners of the 2021 District of Distinction Award. Among the list of honorees is Manor ISD. The districts received the honor for providing a well-rounded education that advocates and integrates visual arts curriculum to inspire creativity and build social-emotional learning that connects learners to their community and beyond.

  • Local 7-Eleven Donates $711 to MISD Elementary School

    Rapidly growing Manor, Texas has welcomed a new convenience store located at the corner of Highway 290 and Lexington Street. The worldwide brand, 7-Eleven, opened their doors to the Manor community on Friday, September 3rd, and rewarded MISD’s Lagos Elementary School with a $711 donation. Lagos Elementary School Principal Malaki Hawkins and Chief of Schools Michael Perkins accepted the donation on the district’s behalf.

  • Manor ISD mourns the loss of staff member, Amy Rodriguez.

    Manor ISD Family Shares the Loss of Ms. Amy "Coach" Rodriguez. Ms. Rodriguez was very well-known across our district and community. She began with us in 2000. She served scholars and families at Manor Elementary, Oak Meadows Elementary, Manor Middle School, Presidential Meadows Elementary and last at Bluebonnet Trail Elementary.

  • MECHS Senior Signs Letter of Intent

    Manor, TX (May 17, 2021) - Previously, Emily Jaimes, Senior at Manor Early College High School was offered a full-ride scholarship to Houston Baptist University to play Division I soccer for the Huskies. Jaimes accepted and signed her official Letter of Intent to play soccer at HBU on Friday, April 30th, 2021. She will start her studies in the fall of 2021.

    Manor, TX (May 14, 2021) - Manor New Tech High School Visual Arts teacher, Javier Barbosa had his scholars explore the details of activism such as, organizing events and volunteering throughout the community. Scholars were then challenged to create artwork that identifies with Social Justice causes they are most passionate about.

    Manor, TX (April 15, 2021) - Manor Early College High School ninth grade scholar, Johnique “J.T.” Thomas was featured during a recent NPR podcast interview titled “As the End of the Pandemic Becomes Real, Here’s What People are Dreaming About.” The podcast featured seven people from across the country with ages ranging from 15 to 65 years old – J.T. being the youngest.

    Manor, Texas – (April 7, 2021) – Manor ISD has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education for the third consecutive year. Now in its 22nd year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

    Manor, TX (April 9, 2021) - Manor Senior High School 11th Grade Scholar, Fernando Aboytes was formally invited to attend SXSW Online 2021 through the E4 Youth program. Aboytes submitted a Digital Creative Portfolio published online to BULB, which is a portfolio builder site.

  • Connecting Through Music; MSHS Teacher’s Methods Published in English Journal

    Manor, TX (April 9, 2021) - If you walk into Mrs. Shakema Dunlap’s English classroom at Manor Senior High School on any given day, you will probably hear an array of music playing. Anything from today’s chart-topping pop artists to yesterday’s classics and everything in between can be heard. Scholars in Dunlap’s class develop meaningful relationships through the sharing of music. During writing labs or asynchronous workdays, Dunlap has scholars share a link to the music they are listening to so others can listen in as well.

    Manor, TX (April 5, 2021) - Lagos Elementary’s K-5 Academic Interventionist, Melanie Griffin-Hamlin has been nominated for the 2020-2021 National LifeChanger of the Year Award. LifeChanger of the Year is an annual award that recognizes and rewards outstanding K-12 educators and school employees across the country.

  • Manor High School One-Act Play Advances to Bi-District Competition For The First Time Since 2009

    Manor, TX (April 1, 2021) - The cast of Manor High School’s (MHS) One Act Play, Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Whol competed in the University Interscholastic League’s (UIL) One-Act Play District level competition on March 12th and achieved five individual awards. The team then advanced on to the Bi-District level competition on March 25th and earned four individual awards.

  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes Coach of the Year Award

    Manor, TX (April 1, 2021) - Brian Marshall's coaching career spans the past 14 years and stands out to his student-athletes the most through his work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been a priority for Marshall to keep his student-athletes involved in FCA. Coach Marshall continued to host virtual meetings and participation in the FCA program grew even in spite of a number of issues faced during this year. His efforts to keep the meetings scheduled and student-athletes engaged are only a few reasons why Coach Marshall was selected for the FCA Coach of the Year Award.

  • The Ride to School Is Getting Safer; Manor ISD Purchases New School Buses

    Manor, TX (March 30, 2021) - Manor ISD continues to prioritize safety by investing in the district's bus fleet. This means replacing or purchasing new school buses with healthier, safer buses. The 2019 Bond allotted $3.5 million for the purchase of new buses to provide Manor ISD scholars with top-of-the-line safety resources. In the 20-21 school year, Manor ISD has purchased ten new school buses.

  • MNTHS Senior Achieves First Runner Up at UIL State Film Competition

    Manor, TX (March 24, 2021) - This year, as a senior, Jazmine Leyva-Coronado’s digital animated film “The Eggtordinary Heist'' claimed the first runner-up spot at the State level competition. The Heist tells the story of a dragon egg mistakenly taken for a gemstone and stolen from its mother. A cunning thief is hired to steal the egg back but little does he know that he’d be facing his biggest heist by far; infiltrating the Kingdom’s Castle.

  • Let’s Get Into It YouTube Series Selects Five MECHS Scholars To Participate

    Manor, TX (February 26, 2021) - Five Manor Early College High School (MECHS) scholars stood out amongst their peers and have been selected as cast members for the Austin Community College’s (ACC) Let’s Get Into It YouTube series. Scholars will be responsible for attending training workshops, generating show content, serving as on-air personalities and interviewing guests.
