Band is many things. Band is... learning to play an instrument, learning to read music, learning to make music with a group. It is also teamwork, learning a skill, creativity, sensitivity, work ethic, discipline, social skills, group interaction, emotional development, leadership training, spatial reasoning, and aesthetic perception.

At MMS, we try to give all of our band students not only those direct benefits of playing in a band, but the indirect ones as well. We hope that this will lead to a life-long understanding and appreciation for high-quality music and music-making, which will lead to becoming a better person.
