Fiesta Texas Trip on Saturday, May 10th

We are planning on leaving MMS at 7:00 am. We will perform at South San Antonio high School. Beginning band will start, then Concet Band, then Symphonic Band. After the performances, we go to Fiesta Texas for the rest of the day. Arrival time back at MMS should be around 10:30 or 11:00 pm.

Students will need their instruments and music. Students should wear their informal band uniform. (official MMS band t-shirt and blue jeans) If students wish to bring a change of clothes for the park, they may do so. Fiesta Texas has a water park inside, so students wishing to get wet should bring appropriate attire.

Students will also need money for any meals, snacks, souvenirs, or games they wish to spend it on. Please remember that we will not eat at Gattiland until 8:00 that evening. Students should bring some money for food/drink. Students who wish to bring a lunch or snack may do so. Fiesta Texas may not allow outside food in the park, but there are usually picnic tables outside the gates of the park for such a purpose.

Spring Concert on Monday, May 12th.

The Concert will begin at 7:00 pm. Beginning Band will warm-up at 6:30 in the Manor High School Band Hall. Formal Uniform is required as this is a formal concert. This will be our final graded performance of the year. It is a chance for all MMS band students to show what they have learned this year.

Solo & Ensemble Concert Instead!

Our planned Solo and Ensemble Contest at Lagrange on April 26th was cancelled. Sooo... how about a Solo & Ensemble Concert instead!?! This will give our students the opportunity to perform the selections they've been working on. More details will come when they are finalized.

Auditions for next year's Middle School Concert, Symphonic, and High School Bands: start practicing!

Auditions for the 2008-2009 Manor Middle School & Decker Middle School Symphonic and Concert Bands will be on May 14th-16th. Audition Music will be passed-out soon. Practice a lot to get as good as you can! This audition will also count as part of our final exam.

Auditions for the 2008-2009 High School Band will be on May 20th-22nd. Music will be passed-out soon.
