Manor, TX is located just outside the city limits of Austin on U.S. Hwy. 290 East, approximately 12 miles east of the University of Texas campus. The City
of Manor was established in the mid to late 1800s and by the early 1900s was a hub for the central Texas cotton and railroad industries.
Today, the Manor community has become a hub for the central Texas technology industry, with technology giants such as Applied Materials and Samsung, among others, listed on
their tax role. The City of Manor is a quickly growing community and currently has a population of almost 3,200 people. A number of MISD students live within the city limits of
Austin.
Manor ISD is experiencing a phenomenal growth in student enrollment. Since 2003, the District has experienced an explosion of the growth and the enrollment for 2008-2009 is
currently at 6,223 students.

Goal 1: Increase student performance and achievement and close the achievement gap among all student groups (African American, Hispanic, English Language Learners, Special Education and Economically Disadvantaged).
