Mission Statement:
Student & Family Support Services staff is committed to empower students and families by providing social services supports which enable them to make the most of their learning experiences and become caring and responsible citizens who pursue lifelong learning, thus impacting student achievement.
What is the purpose of the Student & Family Support Services? Think of us as a friendly connection between your home and your child’s school. We want children to come to school happy and ready to learn!
Here are some ways we can help!
- Refer families to resources
- Assist students in crisis
- Offer parenting/community education opportunities
- Lend parenting materials from our library
- Involve students in community service
- Interpret for parents as needed
- Create opportunities for parents to become involved in the district
- Make the clothing and food pantry. Open to the public, Monday – Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Advocate for families in temporary living situations
Together We Can Make A Difference!
Manor ISD values and welcomes involvement from parents. These are some examples of how you can become involved in your child’s education:
- Volunteer in your child’s classroom
- Communicate with teachers and principals
- Attend parent-teacher conferences
- Join your school’s parent group
- Serve on a campus or district advisory group
- Volunteer in the lunchroom or at recess
- Offer to contribute to school newsletter
- Speak at career events
- Judge a competition such as a science fair or spelling bee
