Vision and Hearing Screening
The Vision and Hearing screening team has already begun the state mandated
screening process. The state requires that 4-year old Pre-K students, along with 1st grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade and 7th grade be screened for vision and hearing difficulties. Also, all new students to the district will be screened. We also screen for the state required Acanthosis Nigricans, a skin marker for Type 2 Diabetes. If there any concerns with any of the screenings a letter will be sent home to parents recommending a follow up with a physician.

The committee meets four times a year and new members are always welcome. The next meeting will be held on December 8, 2009 at 6:00 PM at the Administration building. Call Cindy Cobia RN, District Nurse for more information at 278-4093.
