College Readiness
Mission Statement:
To provide all students in Manor Independent School District with the information, resources, and opportunities necessary to successfully matriculate into post-secondary institutions after high school graduation through collaboration with administrators, teachers, counselors, students, parents, businesses, and the Manor community.
Navigational Goals:
- Foster a college going culture among students and parents that empowers the student to attend a post-secondary institution after high school graduation.
- Establish and sustain a College Readiness Council that will meet on a regular and continuous basis to outline and execute specific college readiness initiatives and goals.
- Facilitate a seamless college readiness pipeline for students K- 12 grades to support matriculation and academic success in a post secondary education.
Program Goals:
- Meet and exceed the state average of the number of students attending post-secondary institutions after high school graduation.
- Meet and exceed the state average of the number of students that meet and exceed minimal college readiness standards.
- Meet and exceed the state average of the students completing admissions and financial applications.
- Institute the use of annual college readiness checklists that can be used to track each student’s road to matriculation.
