Being an effective school board member is no easy task, particularly in today's climate of change and challenge.
School board members need to be knowledgeable about many complex educational and social issues, and carry
out initiatives and directives from both federal and state governments. To face these demands of governing our
district, they give countless hours of personal time.
Through dedicated, responsible endeavors, our Board of Trustees serves the public interest in education and
serves the needs of our kids. They ensure decisions about our schools are made as close to the needs of our
community as possible. With the advice and counsel of the educational professionals they hire, our school board
has an impact on virtually every aspect of our schools. It’s a huge responsibility and one they do not take lightly.
Our Board of Trustees meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m., in the Manor ISD Central Office
District Learning Center. A meeting agenda is posted at the Central Administration Office five days preceding each
regular meeting and three days preceding special meetings. The public is welcomed to participate in the open
forum portion of each board meeting by signing up to speak before the meeting begins.
