| Students are encouraged to take advantage of the free, nutritious breakfast provided by the district. We offer a balanced breakfast every morning that will help students start the day right. The nutritional goal for school meals is to provide a large portion of the recommended daily dietary allowances. We believe nutrition is crucial to a student’s academic performance and we are available to meet those needs.
In order to expedite the lunchtime process, please have children pre-pay for their meals. They may do this by presenting a check with their student identification number or name written on the memo area, or if you wish, you may send cash with a note indicating the student’s name or ID number. You can even pay for more than one student with one easy payment. Just be sure to indicate the multiple student ID numbers or names and how much money should be credited to each account. This system will allow students access to their account from any serving line in the district. Special pin numbers may now be assigned to a student’s account to ensure security. Students may still pay daily if they wish.
Secondary students may obtain ID number information from the school office. Elementary students will be provided with a coded lunch card they can find on a board in the school cafeteria. The cards will be organized by grade/teacher.
Students will only be allowed to “charge” their lunch two times. After two charges, a sandwich and milk will be provided for one day only. Students will be required to bring their lunch from home until all charges are paid. This policy will be in effect until the month of May, when no charges will be allowed.
Parents now have the capability to check their children’s account balances and their daily meal purchases through a program called “Lunch Money Now!” It is as simple as going to the Manor ISD website (www.manorisd.net), choosing “Student & Parent Resources” and then clicking on “Check Your Student’s Lunch Money Account.” To access each account you will need the student’s ID number and birthdate.
