Richard Hayden
Decker Elementary
It is gratifying to serve as principal at such a wonderful school. My
goal as principal is to provide an environment that is warm and
supportive for everyone. I was born and raised in Pleasanton,
Texas, a small town south of San Antonio. I am a graduate of the
Our Lady of The Lake University in San Antonio where I received
my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. After
graduation, I taught at Poteet ISD and Northside ISD.
While teaching, I attended Texas A & M in Kingsville where I
received my Masters degree. In 1996, I was hired as a Vice-
Principal with Floresville Elementary and a year later hired as the
Principal with a campus of over 1160 students.
I am honored to serve as principal of Decker Elementary. Please
don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions, concerns, or
comments. I’m looking forward to getting to know the community
and the wonderful students.
